Museums of the Arroyo Day Returns on Saturday

On May 22, Experience ‘Life in the Past Lane’ When Six Local Museums Showcase Arroyo Culture With Free Admission, Shuttles, Exhibits, Events and Family Fun
Published on Apr 26, 2022

Explore great architecture, historical discoveries, family fun and entertainment at six local museums all for free at Museums of the Arroyo (MOTA) Day on May 22:
Gamble House, Heritage Square, Los Angeles Police Museum, Lummis Home and Garden, Pasadena Museum of History, The Autry’s Southwest Museum, Mt. Washington Campus.

This year marks the 32nd anniversary of Museums of the Arroyo Day – a community event that annually brings together thousands of Angelenos from across Southern California to experience the rich history, iconic architecture and arts-driven neighborhoods of the Arroyo Seco area.

Free shuttles connect the museums: The Gamble House, Heritage Square, Los Angeles Police Museum, Lummis Home, Pasadena Museum of History and the Autry’s Historic Southwest Museum.

With so much to do and see – and only a few hours to do it – visitors are encouraged to best plan their visits and to pace themselves accordingly. (See www.MuseumsOfTheArroyo.com for parking locations, shuttles routes and up-to-date information about events at each museum.)

Organizers stress that guests should plan to visit no more than three museums for a satisfying MOTA Day experience.

MOTA Day takes place from noon to 5 p.m. with last museum entrance at 4 p.m.
