Newcomer Delirium Musicum Lines Up First Post-Pandemic Concerts

Delirium Musicum, one of Southern California’s newest professional chamber orchestras, will be performing on Saturday, November 13, at the Pasadena Presbyterian Church, in their first post-pandemic concert, and in the venue where they played their first concert ever.

This is a free concert that starts at 7:30 p.m. Voluntary offerings are accepted.

Winner of the 2018 Beverly Hills National Auditions and of the 2019-2020 Audience Choice Award of the San Francisco Classical Voice, Delirium Musicum brings together some of the most creative and refined musicians in Los Angeles. The ensemble of 15 musicians defines itself artistically by taking a new stand on the daring and varied repertoire it tackles.

Delirium Musicum is led from the violin by Etienne Gara and reflects the artistic excellence and leadership of the young generation of musicians. Because of the ensemble’s small size, players are able to bond and connect intimately with the audience, engaging them with unapologetically fresh approaches to a wide-ranging musical repertoire.

Delirium Musicum offers creative interpretation of the old masters, as well as collaboration with contemporary composers, generating new and exciting musical programs that speak to modern audiences.

Saturday’s program includes J.S. Bach’s “Brandenburg Concerto No. 3,” Antonio Vivaldi’s “The Four Seasons concertos,” Gianluca Bersanetti’s “Homage to The Fiddler,” Brahms’ “Hungarian Dance No.5” in an arrangement by Bersanetti – he is Delirium Musicum’s composer-in-residence – and a selection of old and new musical gems.

Members of the audience can interact later with the artists in a post-concert reception.

In accordance with current public health policies, face masks are obligatory and distanced seating between family groups is strongly recommended. If you’re showing any symptoms of illness, whether you think it’s COVID-19 related or not, please do not attend.
