Agnes Restaurant and Cheesery will host an exclusive fundraising event on Monday, February 27th from 6:30-9 p.m. benefitting Friends In Deed. a Pasadena interfaith nonprofit that provides supportive services to meet basic human needs that helps those at risk or experiencing homelessness.

The second annual “Friends In Cheese” will bring together a variety of select local chefs for an evening of tasty creations, wine, cocktails, auction, and more, with proceeds being donated to the local nonprofit.

Vanessa and Thomas Tilaka Kalb, Agnes Head Cheese and Executive Chef, respectively, have curated a select list of participating chefs and restaurants, including Leo Lee (RiceBox LA) Teresa Montaño (Otoño), Eric & Erwin Tjahyadi (Bone Kettle), and Anthony Greco (Porto’s Bakery).

Friends In Deed Executive Director Rabbi Joshua Levine Grater says, “Last year’s event was a huge success, and our first live event we participated in since before COVID-19. We are honored that Vanessa and Thomas at Agnes Restaurant and Cheesery would put this event on once again for Friends In Deed. We are so grateful to them, as well as all the participating chefs, for their support of our work in the local community. It really brings our slogan of ‘doing together what we cannot do alone’ to life.”

Friends In Deed, a social services agency founded in Pasadena in 1894, focuses on reducing and preventing homelessness and alleviating the effects of poverty for the community’s most vulnerable citizens. Funds raised during this event will go to support its programs, including Food Pantry, The Women’s Room (a day shelter for homeless and at-risk women), and Eviction Prevention and Rental Assistance. Friends In Deed is committed to providing compassion, connection, and dignity for all clients experiencing times in their lives when they need assistance most.

Tickets are $125 each. An additional limited number of VIP opportunities also available for early access at 5:45pm, meet-and-greet with the chefs, and an Agnes Cheesery VIP swag bag.
