This Father’s Day, Pasadena Heritage is offering a unique blend of history and entertainment, showcasing the remarkable work of architect Myron Hunt. The day starts with a documentary series, followed by a picnic lunch and VIP tours of the iconic Rose Bowl Stadium, which is also one of Myron Hunt’s architectural masterpieces.

Five Homes by Myron Hunt Documentary Film Series

Beginning at 11:00 AM, Pasadena Heritage is screening the first four films in the “Five Homes by Myron Hunt Documentary Film Series” by FORT LA. These documentaries, which will be shown in the historic Myron Hunt room, delve into the legacy of Myron Hunt, who was known for his elegant and thoughtful designs in Southern California. The films have a total running time of 70 minutes and the event is free of charge.

Myron Hunt’s architectural portfolio includes iconic buildings such as the Rose Bowl Stadium, Huntington Library, and various other historic homes. This film series offers a glimpse into the creativity and vision behind his designs.

Picnic Lunch and VIP Tours of the Rose Bowl Stadium

After the documentaries, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a one-of-a-kind experience at the Rose Bowl Stadium. Starting at 1:00 PM, a picnic lunch will be held outside the stadium, providing an opportunity for casual conversation with Peyton Hall, FAIA, the principal of Historic Resources Group and lead restoration consultant for the Rose Bowl retrofitting.

Following the picnic, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, guests can join VIP tours of the Rose Bowl Stadium, led by expert docents. This tour will include visits to the historic 1922 locker rooms, press box, broadcast center, and even a chance to take a run on the famous field. The Rose Bowl, designed by Myron Hunt, is a National Historic Landmark and has hosted numerous Super Bowls, college football games, and other major events.

Tickets for the picnic lunch and VIP tours are priced at $40 for members and $45 for non-members, including the picnic lunch.
