The Pasadena Police Foundation is hosting its annual breakfast to honor Pasadena’s Chief of Police, John E. Perez, in person at the Rose Bowl on Tuesday, October 12, at 7:30 a.m.

Traditionally, the annual breakfast has provided an opportunity for residents, members of the business and non-profit community, and friends to hear about the current goals and accomplishments of the Pasadena Police Department. It’s also an opportunity to see first-hand how the Foundation fulfills its mission to support the planning, development, and implementation of programs and activities of the Police Department.

Among the Pasadena Police Foundation’s programs are the Kids Safety Academy, the Junior Public Safety Academy, the Explorer Program, the Police K-9 Unit and additional resources to enhance community safety.

This year, the Foundation is raising funds to continue supporting the local Pasadena youth.

“The global pandemic has changed all of our lives and has had a significant impact on the education of local children,” a statement by the Foundation said. “Last year, through our efforts, we were able to raise over $30,000 which was used to help meet the technology needs of our local students. Education is one of the most important factors in determining the well-being of our local community and we hope through our efforts this year to continue to ensure that our local youth are provided the best opportunities to succeed.”

The annual breakfast will also recognize Chief John Perez for his years of service, as he heads into retirement.

This year’s emcee will be Jeff Michael, Communications Specialist at Virgin Galactic.

Up for auction during the event will be a Ride-along in a Pasadena Police patrol car, a Ride-along in the Pasadena Police helicopter, two tickets to the Huntington Library, and two tickets to a mainstage production at the Pasadena Playhouse.

Parking Lot F at the Rose Bowl will be open the morning of the event.
