Pianist Bob Lipson and singer Don Snyder

Join the Pasadena Senior Center, pianist Bob Lipson and singer Don Snyder at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, for a special holiday edition of their great American composer concert.

The free event, live on Zoom, is part of PSC’s Cultural Thursdays series, and will be a great opportunity for everyone in the family to hear Christmas classics from some of the great musical artists around.

Bob Lipson, co-creator of the beloved music series “Composer Shows” (www.composershows.com), will be joining the show from his home, and play favorite holiday tunes as you sing along. He will also talk about how the music has influenced him.

Bob Lipson is one of the area’s outstanding pianist-interpreters of the great American Standards. He performs as both soloist and accompanist throughout Southern California. Schooled in the fields of popular music, jazz and classical, he “trains” with jazz great Terry Trotter and performs with a jazz ensemble.

Lipson is also the former president of the Santa Monica Oceanaires of the Barbershop Harmony Society. His love for the works of legendary composers of the 20th century dovetails beautifully with the sights and sounds of the Great American Songbook.

On Thursday, he is joined by singer Don Snyder for a fun and interactive musical journey featuring holiday and seasonal favorites such as “The Christmas Song,” “Winter Wonderland,” “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Let It Snow,” “White Christmas,” “Silver Bells,” “Sleigh Ride,” “The Chipmunk Song,” and many more.
