Pasadena’s Lineage Performing Arts Center Stages New Take on Classic Tales for ‘Curious Kids’

Published on Feb 3, 2022

Lineage Performing Arts Center in Pasadena presents “The Curiosity Tales,” a new take on classic tales for curious kids of all ages, every Sunday beginning on Feb. 6 up to March 13, at 3:15 to 5 p.m.

“The Curiosity Tales” explores the well-known stories of curious characters like Alice and Pandora through a humorous and exciting multimedia theater and dance performance. Curious kids of all ages will love this original production, featuring original score from composer John Guth, choreography by Artistic Director Hilary Thomas, and the critically acclaimed Lineage Dancers.

“The Curiosity Tales” follows three teens – Ally, Eva, and Dora – as they dive into their imaginations to discover what they’re curious about. With help from social-media superstar Blanca Lapine, the girls are reminded of the importance of friendship, acceptance, and most importantly, curiosity. In the age of social media and the influencer onslaught, “The Curiosity Tales” encourages kids to look up from their devices and make impactful connections in the real world.

In a special performance on Sunday, Feb. 6, Lineage partners with Young & Healthy, a Pasadena nonprofit whose mission is to serve the uninsured and underserved children and families of the community through prevention, education and enhanced healthcare services.

Information will be available about free dental clinics and support for tax season. To learn more about the program, visit www.yhpasadena.org.

Thirty minutes before the show, Curiosity Lab, an interactive exhibit designed by local students for folks of all ages, opens. Be ready to explore, learn, and of course, ask questions at this activity, which begins at 3:15 p.m.

All performances begin at 4 p.m. The show runs for an hour with no intermission.
