Sandra Tsing Loh Does Live Radio-Style Show “A ‘dena Home Companion” on Sunday

Published on Feb 26, 2022

The Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena presents “A ‘dena Home Companion,” a humorous radio-style variety show hosted by NPR commentator Sandra Tsing Loh, on Sunday, Feb. 27, with the matinee at 3 p.m.

“A ‘dena Home Companion” – the name is a play on Pasadena, Altadena and Eagle Rock-a-dena – is a spin on Garrison Keillor’s “Prairie Home Companion,” your monthly hometown revue featuring comedy and classic American songs with a twist.

This is the triumphal return of a show that debuted to a sold out crowd even at the height of the Omicron.

Sunday’s show will feature a return of the entire crew in honor of Mardi Gras. Musical themes include New Orleans and Valentine’s Day. COVID permitting, John Michael Higgins will return and original Ikette Maxayn Lewis will sing “Jambalaya (On the Bayou).”

In the second act, all voices, audience included, are welcome in the festive final hootenanny.

“A ‘dena Home Companion” will be continuing on the last Sunday of each month, except in March when it will be on Saturday, March 26.

Patrons must be masked and fully vaccinated to attend. Please present your vaccination card or image of your card upon entry. There will be no exceptions.

Tickets are $20. For reservations, call (626) 798-6236.
