This morning La Pintoresca Park is all about its new look, new features and new fun and no one is more excited about it than Recreation Services Specialist Tyanta “Ty” Snow.
“La Pintoresca Park is back!” he exclaimed as he led a visitor through the park’s new installations and equipment a day before the 26-year-old park’s new official second debut.
The park will open the summer season and celebrate nearly two decades of families, friends and neighbors, with a “Family Fun Day” Saturday, May 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The event will feature the opening of the new skate park, a new water park/splash pad, new playground equipment, along with a barbecue, games, face painting, crafts, entertainment, video games, and laser tag.
The new skate park features a host of new ramps, steps, railings, straightaways and staircases, for skaters of all ages and skill levels. There is also a new shaded Jungle Gym climbing area with slides for younger visitors.
Add to it all a brand new full-size outdoor basketball court, to which workers were applying finishing touches on Friday.
“We’re so happy to be back, post-Covid,” said Snow.
“This is going to be the best park ever!” he added, as he pushed a button to activate the new water play area, which features a series of automated sprinkler structures that will run in timed sequences every day through 6 p.m.
“This is going to be so awesome!” said Snow.
