See the True Story of Selena in Outdoor Movie Night at Victory Park

Published on Aug 5, 2021

Street Food Cinema Los Angeles presents the true story of “Selena” on Saturday, August 7, at Victory Park, located at 2575 Paloma Street in Pasadena.

The movie tells the story of the Texas-born Tejano singer, Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, who rose from cult status to performing at the Astrodome and having chart-topping albums on the Latin music charts.

“Selena” was released in 1997 in the U.S. as a biographical musical drama film, written and directed by Gregory Nava. The film is about Selena’s life and career before she was murdered by Yolanda Saldívar at the age of 23.

The film stars Jennifer Lopez in her breakout role as Selena. Edward James Olmos plays Selena’s father, Abraham Quintanilla Jr., and Constance Marie plays Selena’s mother Marcella.

Launched in 2012, Street Food Cinema has become more than just an outdoor movie. It’s an experience, bringing together the best in pop culture films, gourmet street food and progressive new music, al fresco style.

In June 2020, Street Food Cinema transitioned into SFC Drive-in, which was an immediate hit. The SFC team immediately adapted all event aspects into a socially distanced format.

No tickets will be sold at the door at Victory Park. All tickets must be purchased online before the event. Tickets for this screening will be available in two formats: Socially-Distanced Pods and a “Fully-Vaccinated” Section.

Additional details regarding event protocol and guidelines will be sent out to ticket holders prior to the event.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
