Sign Up for Huntington 101

You can explore the origins and history of The Huntington, as well as the exciting changes that have taken place over the past 25 years., at a specially-designed program called “Huntington 101.”

The Huntington Library, Art Museum, and Botanical Gardens continues the second session on “Huntington 101” on Thursday, March 10, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The first class was on March 3.

In the series, longtime Huntington staff member Randy Shulman and guest curators pull back the curtain for a captivating behind-the-scenes look at The Huntington. Last week, “Huntington 101” featured a visit to the Conservation Lab in the Library where bound and flat objects are restored and conserved. Attendees also met Kristi Westberg, Senior Book and Paper Conservator, and Jacklyn Chi, Paper Conservator.

On Thursday, participants will meet Vanessa Wilkie, the William A. Moffett Curator of Medieval Manuscripts and British History, to learn more about a curator’s role in the library, and how they manage /grow collections. Vanessa will also bring a few rare objects to show. She will bring a few rare objects to show the audience.

The class is held in the Ahmanson Reading Room in the Munger Research Center. Check-in is at 5:15 p.m. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required at this and all indoor events at The Huntington. By attending this event, you attest and agree to provide proof of full vaccination.

Tickets are $55 for The Huntington members, and $70 for non-members.
