Unveiling the Mystical Splendor: Dancing Storytellers Present “Indian Mythology and Me”

The South Pasadena Public Library invites you to a captivating and enchanting evening with the Dancing Storytellers as they present “Indian Mythology and Me.” This mesmerizing dance and theater performance will take place on Wednesday, July 19, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the South Pasadena Library Park located at 1100 Oxley St. in South Pasadena.

“Indian Mythology and Me” is a unique production created by the talented Dancing Storytellers. This group of artists specializes in creating compelling duets that skillfully blend rhythm, song, gesture, and facial expressions. Through their interactive performance, they explore the rich tapestry of Indian mythology and its relevance in our modern world.

During the show, audience members will have the opportunity to engage directly with the performers. At times, lucky participants may even be invited onto the stage, where they will be playfully incorporated into the unfolding story. The Dancing Storytellers consist of Sheetal Gandhi, Ulka Mohanty, and Shyamala Moorty, three highly accomplished artists who are well-versed in the art of Indian classical dances. The event will take place on the Oxley Street side of Library Park, creating an idyllic outdoor setting for this cultural celebration. Attendees are encouraged to bring a blanket to sit on the grass. In case of inclement weather, the program will be moved inside the Library Community Room.
