The Pasadena Ice Skating Center rink sessions and programs have been bustling this year, filled with skaters and activities – and even busier than before Covid, according to Randy Winship, general manager of the Center.

Over 3,200 public session skaters visited The Pasadena Ice Skating Center during the Thanksgiving week last month, according to Winship.

The Pasadena Ice Skating Center, which has served the community since 1976, provides year-round recreational activities for skaters of all ages and ability levels. The current facility, located in the Pasadena Convention Center, opened in September of 2011.

Home to the Pasadena Maple Leafs youth hockey association, Pasadena Figure Skating Club, and the Rose City Crystals synchronized skating teams, The Pasadena Ice Skating Center halted its operations during the early stages of the COVID pandemic in 2020. It announced its full reopening for public skating, group classes and private rentals in May of 2021.

According to Winship, The Pasadena Ice Skating Center, which is open seven days a week, offers group classes for hockey and figure skaters from beginner to advanced levels.

“We have private rentals for skating and hockey sessions along with broomball games throughout the year.  Of course, these are also very popular during the holiday season,” Winship also added.

Winship urged residents to come visit The Pasadena Ice Skating Center not only during the holiday season but year-round.

“We know the Pasadena Ice Skating Center is a unique Pasadena landmark and we are happy to see so many Pasadena residents on a regular basis. Although many people go skating ‘in the spirit of the winter holidays,’ we are open all year round.  It’s a great place to cool off in the hot summer months too!”
