Residents of Pasadena can safely dispose of their electronic waste and have their old documents shredded on Saturday, March 26, at the City’s free E-waste collection event, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., just outside the Rose Bowl Stadium.
The recycling event will be held in Parking Lot I of the Rose Bowl, near Brookside Park at 360 N. Arroyo Blvd., according to a Department of Public Works announcement.
Electronic waste from your household can include computers, keyboards, printers, monitors, laptops, docking stations, scanners, shredders, fax machines, computer mice, telephones, televisions, flat screens, VCRs, DVD players, PDAs, cassette players, tape drives, stereos and household batteries. Many of these products have parts that can be recycled.
Free paper shredding will be available at the event. Residents can bring up to three legal-size boxes of documents for shredding. These documents may include sensitive items like receipts, checks, pre-approved credit applications, credit card statements, outdated tax returns, pre-printed envelopes, return address labels and business cards. The information on these documents may fall into the wrong hands if these are not shredded properly.
The Public Works Department will have shredding trucks and e-waste collection sites arranged at different stations on the site. Adequate signage will be installed to properly guide residents to the venue.
Motorists and bicyclists are advised to use caution while traveling through the area.
Participants are advised to bring proof of Pasadena residency to the event.
