[UPDATED] Coroner’s officials on Thursday released the identity of a 24-year-old Pasadena man who was fatally shot in a residential neighborhood last week.
Jamal Dion Patterson died Oct. 28 at a hospital after he was critically wounded in a shooting shortly before 10 p.m. on Oct. 25 in the 1000 block of Summit Avenue, according to Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner spokeswoman Sarah Ardalani.
He succumbed to his wounds after being taken off life-support, officials said. Police had previously said he died on Oct. 29.
Investigators determined through an autopsy that Patterson died from a gunshot wound to the head, coroner’s records show.
He was wounded along with another 24-year-old man, but few details were available regarding the circumstances of the attack, according to Pasadena police Lt. Sean Dawkins.
Both victims were brought to a local emergency room by private car after the shooting, he said. No further details, including a description of the attacker or attackers, were available.
