A 24-year-old man who was shot and critically wounded last week in Pasadena succumbed to his injuries at a hospital over the weekend, authorities said Monday.
The victim, described as a Pasadena resident, died Friday afternoon after he was taken off life-support, according to Pasadena police Lt. William Grisafe.
His identity was not yet released by coroner’s officials.
The man, along with a 24-year-old Altadena man, were shot and critically wounded about 9:45 p.m. on Oct. 25 the 1000 block of North Summit Avenue, Lt. Sean Dawkins said at the time.
Witnesses reported hearing gunshots shortly before the two wounded men were brought to a local emergency room by a private car, police said.
Officers found evidence of the shooting along Summit Avenue, Dawkins said.
No further details, including a suspect description, were available.
The shooting was one of 11 reported between Oct. 22 and Monday.
In addition to the now-fatal shooting, five other people have been injured in the spate of violence — three by gunfire, one by flying glass from a bullet-shattered window and one from being pistol whipped during a shooting, according to police.
Police and city officials hosted an “emergency community meeting” at at Robinson Park on Thursday to discuss the shootings, which then numbered six over the prior week.
