Spanish Language and Cultural Studies at St. Andrew School
At St. Andrew Catholic School (SACS), it recognizes the importance of learning a second language. SACS students study the Spanish Language and different aspects of the culture in Latin American Countries and Mexico. Students in transitional kindergarten, kindergarten and 1st grade have class once weekly, grades 2 and 3 have class twice weekly, grades 4 and 5 have 3 weekly class and grades 6-8 have class every day.
Students learn Spanish vocabulary, grammar and conversational language. They learn about cultural celebrations and traditions throughout the year especially as they relate to the Liturgical year in the Church. SACS primary grades learn a variety of cultural music and the upper grades sing for “our” school celebration of the feast of “Our Lady of Guadalupe”.
