Marshall Fundamental APUSH Students Profile Progressive Era Reformers
Marshall Fundamental APUSH (AP US History) students researched an assigned Progressive Era reformer and used their digital skills to create an “online” profile for their person. This included their analysis of a specific historical document or political cartoon to thoroughly examine their purposes and tactics.
Students then came in on Valentine’s Day with a prop and a name tag they created to help others identify them during a “speed dating” event. Students took on their reformers’ personas and introduced themselves to their peers for a few minutes before they took notes on their partner’s information before switching.
The Advanced Placement Program in United States History (APUSH) is designed to provide students with the analytic skill and factual knowledge to deal critically with the problems and issues in United States political, social, economic, constitutional, cultural, diplomatic, and intellectual history. The course prepares students for intermediate and advanced college courses by making demands equivalent to those made by full year introductory college courses. Students will learn to assess historical materials—their relevance to a given interpretive problem, their reliability, and their importance, and to weigh the evidence and interpretations presented in historical scholarship.
