Alverno Heights Academy Celebrates the Class of 2025 in Uplifting Graduation Ceremony
Ceremony honors academic excellence, leadership, and service as students prepare for their next chapter
Alverno Heights Academy celebrated its Class of 2025 with a moving commencement ceremony that recognized student excellence in academics, service, athletics, and character. The event, held on campus at 200 N. Michillinda Ave., Sierra Madre, was filled with emotion, pride, and optimism for the future.
The ceremony included the conferral of several prestigious awards and scholarships, honoring the diverse achievements of graduating students.
Aner Iglesias III received the Alverno Board of Trustees Highest GPA Award. Iglesias will be attending LaSalle High School this fall with a Presidential Merit Scholarship, recognizing his outstanding academic performance.
Victor Kleczek was honored with the Deacon Manuel Valencia Charism and Legacy Scholarship Award, given to the graduate whose personal journey best reflects the values of steadfastness and selfless service.
Anna Kassabian received multiple accolades, including the APTA Founders’ Award for her spirit of generosity and shared achievement, and the St. Scholastica Scholarship Award in recognition of her faith and service as she continues her education at St. Lucy’s Priory High School.
Simon Palomares, also heading to LaSalle High School with a Presidential Merit Scholarship, was awarded the St. Francis of Assisi Award, a distinction given to the student who most fully embodies the Franciscan ideals of honor, respect, and love for all creation.
Sarah Valencia was named the recipient of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Award, honoring her deep commitment to social justice, community spirit, and faith—core values of the Immaculate Heart Community.
Athletic achievements were also spotlighted, with Maeve Totten and Rufus Jalil named Alverno Scholar Athletes of the Year. Aiden Gunther received the Brave Spirit Award for his exceptional dedication to Alverno athletics.
“Celebrate endings—for they precede new beginnings,” read the ceremony’s guiding quote from Jonathan Lockwood Huie, echoing the theme of growth and transformation.
