Clairbourn 8th Graders Examine the Relationship between Wavelength and Wave Speed

Time, wavelength and frequency! Clairbourn eighth grade science class studied the relationship between wavelength and wave speed through a hands-on experiment. Students varied their walking speed while making waves with colored water to determine the effect of speed on wavelength and frequency. After measuring the wavelength, time, and number of waves, students calculated frequency and then used both the wave speed formula and the distance-rate-time formula to analyze their speeds!
