European Show and Dinner at Southwestern Academy

Southwestern Academy’s recent European Show and dinner gave the chance to students from European countries to share their culture and food. A student from Spain danced the flamenco, another student played a song by a German composer on the clarinet. Videos were also the students filmed showcasing each student talking about his or her country and what made it special to them. For the dinner, students chose some of their favorite foods to serve. There were fish and chips from England, Armenian kebabs, Turkish lahmacun, Spanish croquetas, and a traditional drink from Turkey called Ayran.

Southwestern Academy students get valuable opportunities to learn from each other socially and intellectually. Students develop their own world views and learn to respect the perspectives every classmate brings to the table.
