John Muir High School Announces Mandatory Student Registration Schedule for Aug. 3–6

Dr. Lawton Gray, principal of John Muir High School, has announced that mandatory student registration for the 2026–27 school year will take place Monday, Aug. 3, through Thursday, Aug. 6, with registration hours from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. each day. School offices noted that registration staff will take a lunch break between the morning and afternoon sessions.

To help streamline the registration process, parents and guardians are encouraged to complete the required Data Confirmation through the Parent Portal before arriving on campus. The online process allows families to update contact information and confirm that they have reviewed school and district policies. Those who have not completed Data Confirmation in advance will need to create or access their Parent Portal account and finish the process during registration, which is expected to increase wait times.

Registration will be held according to the following schedule:

• Monday, Aug. 3: Ninth-grade students (last names A–G) and 12th-grade students
• Tuesday, Aug. 4: Ninth-grade students (last names H–P) and 11th-grade students
• Wednesday, Aug. 5: Ninth-grade students (last names Q–Z) and 10th-grade students
• Thursday, Aug. 6: Make-up registration for all grade levels

Students who are unable to attend on their assigned registration day may register on whichever day is most convenient during the four-day registration period. John Muir High School’s offices will be closed on Friday, Aug. 7.

During registration, students will complete several important back-to-school requirements, including having their yearbook and student identification photos taken, purchasing physical education uniforms, receiving locker assignments, completing Pasadena City College Early College program applications, and finishing other required registration tasks. School administrators emphasized that completing Data Confirmation before arriving on campus will help ensure a faster and more efficient registration experience for families.
