Clairbourn School recently shared a glimpse into one of its engaging kindergarten experiences, where classrooms came alive with curiosity during a hands-on life science unit focused on chickens and their life cycles. Throughout the unit, students were immersed in a variety of interactive learning activities designed to spark wonder and deepen understanding. From reading stories about chicks to expressing their creativity through painting, the young learners explored the fascinating journey from egg to chicken in meaningful and memorable ways.

In addition to their academic exploration, students had the unique opportunity to observe and care for real chicks, taking turns nurturing them and learning responsibility firsthand. They also examined basic chicken anatomy, gaining an early appreciation for the natural world through observation and guided discovery. Experiences like these highlight Clairbourn School’s commitment to experiential learning, where lessons extend beyond textbooks and leave a lasting impression on students. Moments like these not only build knowledge but also inspire a lifelong love of learning.
