Marengo Fifth Graders Tell Their Stories

Marengo Elementary School fifth graders and their families share their Heritage Projects. One of the defining moments in fifth grade at Marengo Elementary School is completing the Heritage Project, an opportunity for students to celebrate their family history and share artifacts, traditions, languages, and other meaningful stories that make them who they are.
Despite the rainy morning on a Friday, last November 21, families packed the fifth-grade classrooms to listen to and observe the students as they shared their backgrounds and important experiences. From family photos to ethnic foods and cultural attire, the projects aim to celebrate the diversity of students and their families, allowing students to showcase their family traditions.
