A typical Friday morning student assembly at Marengo Elementary School includes spirited celebrations and ways to foster a positive, cohesive school community, but rarely does it feature someone the students consider a celebrity. On Friday, October 27, Marengo students and staff were thrilled to honor former Principal Patricia Cheadle with a hearty Marengo Lions “roar.” Activities included a special school song, questions and answers about her new job with South Pasadena Unified School District, and gifts from the PTA and staff. Students and staff came together to thank former Principal Cheadle for her seven years of service, which included earning both a National Blue Ribbon School Award and a California Distinguished Schools Honor.
