Pasadena Unified Launches Pan African Storytelling Academy in 2025



The Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD) is excited to announce the launch of its Pan African Immersive Storytelling Academy, set to open at McKinley School of the Arts in Fall 2025. Initially available to sixth-grade students, this pioneering academy is specially designed for Black students, aiming to bring a unique educational experience that seamlessly integrates immersive storytelling methods into essential subjects, including mathematics, science, language arts, history, and social studies. By focusing on critical thinking, creativity, and digital literacy, the academy’s mission is to cultivate these essential skills while celebrating the diverse cultures, histories, and contributions within the Pan-African diaspora.
