Ramona Convent Offers Free Math Tutoring

The Math department at Ramona Convent Secondary School recently held the first session of a FREE Math Readiness Mentor Program for junior high girls. Participants were paired with a Ramona Convent student to review math concepts being taught at their school and build confidence in their math abilities. While students were being tutored, a separate meeting was held with parents to discuss high school math readiness. Mr. Eddie Cortez, Math teacher, shared “I started the mentoring program because our students have such a strong foundation in math and I felt they could make a positive impact on girls from local elementary schools in this subject area. It’s also a great way for our students to put into practice their leadership and communication skills.”

Two additional sessions will be offered on October 2nd and November 6th from 3:30 – 4:45. There is no cost for these tutoring sessions. Please contact Mr. Eddie Cortez, Math teacher, at ecortez@ramonaconvent.org to sign up.
