Science Comes Alive at Aveson Global Leadership Academy

At Aveson Global Leadership Academy, science is anything but boring! Sixth graders transformed into leaf detectives, sketching their discoveries using the ABCDE rubric—Accurate, Big, Colorful, Detailed, and Explained—before putting their observation skills to the test in the lively Leaf Matching Game™.

Seventh graders took a creative leap into science fiction, constructing 1:10 scale mini-mes and exploring animal structures, including a titanosaur so massive it might not fit in the classroom.

Meanwhile, eighth graders sharpened their analytical thinking by tackling cube puzzles and presenting their conclusions with solid evidence and reasoning, offering peer feedback like true scientists.

Guiding all this hands-on discovery is Ms. Raymond—an educator and real-life scientist—now in her second year at Aveson. She keeps science deeply connected to the real world, linking lessons to local phenomena such as Southern California earthquakes and the Eaton Fire, while inviting guest scientists to inspire curiosity.

At Aveson, students don’t just learn science—they live it.
