South Pasadena High School Auditorium Unveiled as Anderson Auditorium

During a well-attended, outdoor event on April 27, 2022, community members, administrators, faculty, staff, and students— both former and present—celebrated the official naming of Anderson Auditorium at South Pasadena High School.

The evening began with refreshments and background music provided by the SPHS Jazz Band and band teacher Howard Crawford. Dr. Yantz led the ceremonial portion of the event recapping the selection of the building and the historic career of its namesake, Janet L. Anderson. Speeches continued with remarks provided by SPHS Senior Lulu Talesnick Lopez, English teacher Mark Afram, and SPUSD School Board President Zahir Robb. Ms. Anderson graciously responded with heartfelt thanks and fond memories. Congratulations to Ms. Anderson and thank you again for your contributions to SPUSD.
