South Pasadena Middle School Students Compete at Drama Fall Festival



On Saturday November 9, the South Pasadena Middle School (SPMS) Theatre Arts class participated in the annual Drama Teachers’ Association of Southern California Fall Festival. It was an exciting opportunity to compete against 15 schools in various scene, monologue, and design categories.

The experience capped a six-week immersive unit in which students were engaged in a project-based rehearsal/design process. Students placed in the following categories:

3rd Place
Costume Design: Kalysta Salinas, Sadie Padilla, Haven Bentley, Devon Scott, Kody Bartnes

4th Place
Set Design: Coltrane Bartolome, Caillen Avena, Rena Lee, Neva Musick
Comedy: Rosalie Heimstadt, Elise Donaldson, Cora Kistner, Auggie Stuben, Mars Abourass

5th Place
Marketing & Publicity: Catherine & Audrey Wu

Honorable Mention
Musical: Georgia Beaghan, Ava Ryan, Calla Howard, Liz Vigasina
Monologue: Kody Bartnes
Monologue: Emma Wise
Sweepstakes: South Pasadena Middle School
