Unearthing the Past: Third Graders Explore the World of Fossils

Digging into the past, third-grade students at St. Gregory A. & M. Hovsepian School brought ancient history to life through a hands-on learning experience. As part of their exploration of early life on Earth, students created their own fossil dough and carefully uncovered “artifacts,” stepping into the role of real paleontologists. The activity not only sparked curiosity but also deepened their understanding of how fossils help scientists study prehistoric times. Through this engaging lesson, students combined creativity with scientific inquiry, making history both tangible and exciting. Their enthusiasm and teamwork were on full display as they eagerly shared their discoveries with classmates.
