Waverly’s Sages and Seekers Program

This week, some of Waverly High School students joined the Sages and Seekers program. This six-week program pairs older adults (Sages) with teens (Seekers). The program seeks to break down barriers, reduce isolation, and ageism. Seekers strengthen their social-emotional intelligence, listening, and interviewing skills. They will also hone their writing and public speaking abilities as they will end the program by writing and reading to the group an essay on the impact of the program on their lives. Thanks to the organization of its high school art and Spanish teacher, Beatriz Valls Rodriguez, Waverly School is excited to pair the seekers to these incredible sages.
