Pasadena native Yvonne Ardestani, the owner and founder of Yvonne’s Vegan Kitchen, is as excited as a kid on Halloween about the opening of her new bakery kitchen in Old Pasadena.

“I’m thrilled to invite everyone to experience the mouthwatering world of delicious, vegan and gluten-free cakes, pastries, cheeses, and quick savory food,” she said in a recent announcement.

The new storefront kitchen will open on Friday, September 29, and will celebrate its first 50 customers with free mini cupcakes.

Currently the kitchen’s lineup of original items are sold at a number of upscale retailers such as Erewhon, Mothers Market, and Lassens, as well as through her online retail store.

“Choosing Pasadena as our flagship location was a decision rooted in a deep personal connection,” Ardestani added. “The City’s beauty, rich history, and diverse community are normally close to my heart, but they also resonate with our commitment to inclusive and sustainable dining.

“Pasadena‘s vibrant spirit, eco-conscious mindset, and its support for local businesses,” she continued, “makes it the perfect place to showcase our kitchen, proving that indulgent and healthy choices can harmoniously coexist on your plate.“

The new bakery kitchen will include a collection of cakes, cupcakes, pies, cookies, donuts, brownies, “goatless“ cheeses, and superfood crackers —as well as charcuterie and dessert platters – which will all be handmade daily at the old Pasadena flagship store. The store also features a range of exclusive items, from morning pastries, such as cinnamon rolls, muffins, and scones, to vegan meatloaf, Buddha bowls, Chickpea “tuna“ soups and hummus, and will also be available daily.

Yvonne’s Vegan Kitchen will open Friday, September 29, at 11 W. Dayton St. in Pasadena.
