A Pandemic Can’t Stop Lineage Performing Arts From Having a Gala Party

Lineage Performing Arts Center, a Pasadena-based nonprofit arts organization, will host their annual Lineage Gala Party from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, featuring live dancing, music, art, and connection — except that this year, it’s going to be virtual.

“Lineage knows how to throw a party, even in a pandemic,” a Lineage announcement said on its website. “It’s time for a virtual party unlike any you’ve seen before. You’ll be able to talk with your favorite Lineage artists, collaborators, and extended Lineage gang live, face to face, in virtual rooms.”

The event, live on Zoom, will feature the Lineage Dance Co., special performances from the Dance for Joy community, and featured musicians.

Because the gala is virtual, more of your ticket fee goes directly toward the programs that Lineage does for the community.

The nonprofit’s mission is to make the arts accessible to all, which includes making sure students have access to dance in schools. Recently, the California Arts Council extended Lineage a grant to expand its Artists In Schools residency program.

As an arts organization, Lineage produces their own performances, serves as a home for visiting artists to produce their own work, and creates opportunities to grow and advance through education.

When you buy your $100 ticket for your household, Lineage Performing Arts Center will mail you a T-shirt. If you want more shirts, you can add them to your cart for $25 each.
