The 37th Annual Inter-City Cactus & Succulent Show & Sale wraps up Sunday at the LA County Arboretum, but you’ve got all day to check it out.
The event is the largest local cactus and succulent event of the year and is jointly hosted by the Long Beach Cactus Club, The Los Angeles Cactus & Succulent Society, and the San Gabriel Valley Cactus & Succulent Society.
The show will feature over 1500 plant exhibits from around the globe. Meet green superstars from South Africa, Madagascar (no, not the animated animals, Mexico, South America, and of course, our very own United States.
The show will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on August 6. Admission to the event is $15 for general admission and free for Arboretum members. Advanced tickets are required.
The LA County Arboretum is a unique 127-acre botanical garden and historical site located in what was the heart of the historic Rancho Santa Anita in the city of Arcadia. The Los Angeles Arboretum Foundation and the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation jointly operate the lush grounds.
The Long Beach Cactus Club was founded in 1933 and is the oldest cactus club in the United States.
The Los Angeles Cactus & Succulent Society cultivates the study and enjoyment of cactus and succulent plants through educational programs and activities that promote the hobby within a community of fellow enthusiasts and among the greater public. The society has nearly 200 members who come from throughout Southern California and share a passion for cacti and succulents.
The San Gabriel Valley Cactus & Succulent Society is a non-profit organization that promotes knowledge, study, and interest in cacti and other succulent plants through educational programs, public exhibits, and sharing common interests within a community of fellow enthusiasts.
