Lizards, Snakes, and Reptiles, OH MY! Get the Kids Together for This Cold-Blooded Event

Published on Feb 27, 2021

Whether or not you are a fan of reptiles, it’s always a fun opportunity to learn more about them, especially if you are a kid.

That’s exactly what the Pasadena Humane Society is doing on Sunday, February 28, where kids will be introduced to different types of reptiles, including lizards and snakes.

Miguel Salazar, the resident reptile guy at Kidspace Children’s Museum, will discuss the cold-blooded world of snakes and lizards, from 12 to 1 p.m. Sunday. Ages 7 to 11 are encouraged, but every reptile lover is welcome to watch and learn.

Salazar has been with Kidspace as Animal Programs Coordinator since 2018, transitioning out of the veterinary field after a 23-year career as a veterinary technician and nutrition consultant.

At Kidspace, he’s now responsible for managing and overseeing the health and proper husbandry of the museum’s live collection, which includes reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, and mammals. He also oversees onsite and offsite animal programming, and takes the lead regarding updates and development of animal-based exhibits and programs.
