At the onset of the pandemic in early 2020, landscape designer and jazz vocalist Mayita Dinos was able to finish her debut album “The Garden Is My Stage.”

But thanks to the pandemic, a concert planned to celebrate her debut CD at the Arlington Garden in Pasadena, a garden she designed, did not happen.

Now that restrictions have eased, her songs will finally be heard at the Arlington Garden.

On Saturday, April 30, the concert will start from 7:00 p.m and the public can come early to find a perfect spot to set up a picnic. Concert seating starts at 6:30 pm.

Tickets can be purchased at Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.com/e/the-garden-is-my-stage-ii-tickets-301156496187.

“The Garden Is My Stage” combines Dinos’ two passions: singing and nature.

“It is so meaningful to me to be able to inspire and connect people to nature by blending my love of garden design and music,” said Dinos.

Aside from songs from her album, attendees will also hear some original songs at the concert. Dinos will be accompanied by guitarist Dori Amarilio, pianist Ed Czack, drummer Aaron Serfaty, bassist Trey Henry and woodwind player Alex Budman.

Over the years, Dinos, who is also a member of Tres Divas, has performed in concerts in some of the most popular stages and clubs of Los Angeles including The World Stage, The Gardenia, Upstairs at Vitello’s, The Baked Potato, and Boardwalk 11, according to Dinos’ website.

“Vocalist Mayita Dinos brings wide-eyed wanderlust in her tone as she takes a collection of standards and makes pastel impressionistic portraits with Dinos’ voice unifying the album with a mix of relaxed dynamics and rich soul,” George Harris of JazzWeekly said.

“What an album! Mayita Dinos sings with such polish and poise that it belies the fact that this is her first foray into recording. The artists supporting her are brilliant, the production is sterling, the song selection is flawless. It is only May but I can’t imagine any album coming out this year that can remove her from Best Debut Album on my Favorites of 2020 list,” Travis Rogers Jr. of The Jazz Owl said.
