McDonald’s Reportedly Whips Up New McFlurry Flavor in Pasadena

Published on Jul 16, 2022

McDonald’s is reportedly testing a brand-new hot weather treat: the Hershey’s Mix McFlurry, which is currently only available in select locations across the West Coast including (thank goodness!) the Mickey D’s East Pasadena location on Foothill near Home Depot.

According to industry watchers, the new dessert consists of the usual vanilla soft serve but adds a delicious twist with the addition of a tasty variety of Hershey’s candy bits. McDonald’s has not officially published an announcement about it but published reports speculate the brand is testing the new mix in California.

According to YouTube reviewer Ian K of “Peep This Out!,” who tried it in Pasadena, the Hershey’s Mix McFlurry is filled to the brim with mini M&Ms and other chocolate chunks. The promo poster for the new McFlurry shows other little bits in the soft serve that resemble peanuts, or maybe chunks of caramel.

“Overall, I’m going to give this Hershey’s Mix McFlurry at McDonald’s a pretty decent 7 out of 10,” Ian K said in the review. “It’s an overabundance of chocolate on top of the vanilla, so I’m not really getting anything different. Mouth feel is definitely feeling like plenty of M&Ms are in that, along with the chunks of the chocolate as well, but it needs just a little bit extra to really kind of take it up just a notch if you ask me.”

Ian K said some peanuts or some almonds could really mix up the new Mickey D’s treat “to give you more of what it should be, which is a Hershey’s Mix.”

In May, McDonald’s rolled out a new Chocolatey Pretzel McFlurry, adding to its McFlurry Hall of Fame that includes flavors like Oreo, Butterfinger, Snickers, Rolo, Twix, and Reese’s.

To check out the new Hershey’s Mix McFlurry, head out to ther McDonald’s at 2861 E. Foothill Blvd. in Pasadena.
