Parks After Dark Returns to a Park Near You from July 6 to August 5

The City of Pasadena Parks, Recreation and Community Services Department (PRCS) invites you to the 12th annual Parks After Dark (PAD). PAD takes advantage of Pasadena’s beautiful summer evenings by activating park spaces to provide youth and their families opportunities to experience healthy, safe recreation programming.  Activities include sports leagues and tournaments, recreation activities, movies, and swimming.

Parks After Dark Kickoff Festival | Thursday, July 6, 6-9 p.m., All Ages
Robinson Park Baseball Diamond, 1081 N. Fair Oaks Ave.
Join us for the Parks After Dark kickoff on Thursday, July 6, 6-9 p.m., at Robinson Park featuring FREE food, inflatable games, arts and crafts, a live DJ and more! Show your team spirit during the two exhibition softball games: Pasadena Parks, Recreation and Community Services will play the City Manager’s office and community members will play Pasadena Police.

Recreational Swim | Fri., July 7 – Fri., Aug. 4, 6-9 p.m., All Ages
Villa Parke Pool, 363 E. Villa St.
Cool off, have fun, practice your swimming skills, and enjoy the pool and hangout area. Proper swim attire is required; Participants are encouraged to come dressed and ready to swim. Lifeguards on duty. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

5 vs. 5 Indoor Soccer | Fri., July 7 – Fri., Aug. 4, 6-8 p.m. , Ages 25+
Villa Parke, 363 E. Villa St.
Join us for a fast-paced pick up soccer games inside the Villa Parke basketball court. Each game will be 25 minutes. 

Glow Sports Festival | Thursdays, July 13 and July 27, 8-9:30 p.m., All Ages
Thursday, July 13, Villa Parke Softball Field, 363 E. Villa St. and Thursday, July 27, Victory Park, 2575 Paloma St.
Join us as we light up the night with fun interactive carnival-style games. Invite family, friends and neighbors to this friendly, nontraditional setting that will delight everyone.

5 vs. 5 Adult Basketball | Thursdays, July 13 – Aug. 3, 6-10 p.m., Ages 18+
Robinson Park Recreation Center Gym, 1081 N. Fair Oaks Ave.
Pasadena is well-known for having skilled basketball players! Register your team to compete and demonstrate your game. All levels are welcome. Teams are guaranteed one 20-minute game per week for four weeks in Robinson Park’s gym.

5 vs. 5 High School Basketball | Saturdays, July 15 – Aug. 5, 6-9 p.m., Ages 14-18

7 vs. 7 Adult Soccer | Thursdays, July 13 – Aug. 3, 6-10 p.m., Ages 35+

7 vs. 7 soccer games are fast-paced, high-scoring, and big fun! Two games will be played simultaneously. All teams are guaranteed one game per week for five weeks. 

Music and Movement | Thursday, July 13, 6-8 p.m., All Ages
La Pintoresca Park, 45 E. Washington Blvd.
Groove in the name of boxing! Enjoy fitness exercises with our experienced boxing instructors while listening to a live DJ. Workout will consist of stretches, foot work, punching and self-controlled movement. This would be a non-contact workout full of fun, fitness and wellness.

Boxing Clinic | Thursday, July 20, 5-8 p.m., Ages 8+
July 13 at Robinson Park, 1081 N. Fair Oaks Ave.
Geared towards non-experienced participants who are interested in learning the basic fundamentals of Olympic-style boxing. Workout will consist of stretches, foot work, punching and self-controlled movement. This would be a non-contact workout full of fun, fitness and wellness.

Aqua Boogie Nights | Saturdays,  July 15 – Aug.5, 6-9 p.m., All Ages
Villa Parke Pool, 363 E. Villa St.
Get ready to boogie Saturday nights!  Join us for swimming, music , dancing and a light show. Proper swim attire is required; Participants are encouraged to come dressed and ready to swim. Lifeguards on duty. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Teen Glow Party | Thursday, July 27, 6-9:30 p.m., Ages 12-17
La Pintoresca Teen Education Center, 1415 N. Raymond Ave.
Calling all Teens! Have fun with us at a glow dance party with glow sticks and high-energy dance music. Make new friends and enjoy a fun night at our teen center.

Aztec Dance Yankuititl | Saturday, July 29, 6-9 p.m., All Ages
Villa Parke Softball Diamond, 363 E. Villa St.
Open for all ages, Aztec Dance is an opportunity to learn traditional Aztec dance steps, movement, and  drum rhythms. Lessons start with basic movements and then progress to choreographed dance steps. This activity is accompanied by live Aztec drumming.
