STAFF REPORT
Published on Jul 14, 2025

The Pasadena Public Library is inviting LEGO enthusiasts to participate in the Design Your LEGO Contest, with entries due July 18.

The competition welcomes participants across four categories: children ages 6-12, teens ages 13-17, adults 18 and older, and families. Contestants must create an original design using LEGO or compatible plastic bricks, focusing on developing skills like planning, problem-solving, and public speaking.

Participants can submit entries by dropping off a completed form and a photograph at any Pasadena Public Library branch or online through the library’s designated form. Each entrant may submit only one creation, which must be an original design and not based on existing LEGO kits or online projects.

Finalists will be invited to the LEGO Showcase Day on August 2 at the Jefferson Branch Library. During the event, participants will present their designs to judges and the public.

Two sets of winners will be selected: one by a panel of LEGO enthusiasts and another through a public “People’s Choice” online vote.

Showcase details include presentations beginning at 12 noon and concluding by 2 p.m. Winners in each category will receive prizes, with the public showcase running from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

For more information, participants can visit CityOfPasadena.Libwizard.com/f/Lego2025 or contact Shauna Redmond at sredmond@cityofpasadena.net.
