Pasadena Symphony and Pops presents “Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto,” one of the most-loved violin concertos of all time, in a passionate program with the exotic rhythms of composers Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Gabriela Frank, this Saturday, Feb. 12, with performances at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena.
This is Pasadena Symphony’s ode to romance.
Russian-American Lidiya Yankovskaya, Music Director of Chicago Opera Theatre, conducts, with Korean virtuoso Chee-Yun dazzling on Tchaikovsky’s masterful concerto.
The program includes: Gabriela Frank’s “Elegia Andina,” Tchaikovsky’s “Violin Concerto” and “Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture,” and Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Capriccio Espagnol.”
