Playhouse Village Invites Dogs (and Their Owners) to Don Spooky Costumes and Howl at ‘Bark in the Park’

Published on Oct 7, 2023

Pasadena’s Playhouse Village is hosting the delightful Bark in the Park: Howl-o-ween on Saturday, Oct. 14. The event, presented by the Playhouse Village Foundation, will take place at Playhouse Village Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s open to dogs – and their owners.

Participants should dress up their furry friends for a costume Pet Pawrade and contest.

Prizes for the Best Small Dog Costume, Best Big Dog Costume, and Best Group Costume are at stake. The Best Group Costume contest is open to entries with multiple dogs or a human and dog combination.

Registration for the contest is now open on the Playhouse Village website.

Aside from the parade and contest, a variety of activities for both dogs and their humans are on the program. Attendees can enjoy treat stations, photo opportunities, pet caricatures, and more. Archetype Yoga will even be offering tarot card readings for dogs, and there will be a Trick for Treat stage by Pasadena Playhouse where dogs can show off their best moves. Anytime Fitness will also be hosting a dog yoga session.

For food, attendees can indulge in Anaya’s Restaurant’s “Man’s Best Friend Combo,” which includes a gourmet taco for humans and a special pup taco for their furry companions. Complimentary “pup-tinis” will also be available for a Halloween Yappy Hour.

Families can participate in dog-themed crafts and have their dog’s caricature drawn by an artist. Healthy Spot, Drawn2Art, and the Southern California Children’s Museum will also be providing fang-tastic activities.
