Valarta Supermarkets Brings Flavor to Lent Season with Wide Selection of Delicious Meatless Options

Vallarta’s Lent Season Menu Begins February 22nd to April 6th

Vallarta Supermarkets’ lent menu is available store-wide beginning February 22nd through April 6th, offering a delicious selection of food options for those adhering to a meat-free diet during lent. Customers following a Lenten diet can enjoy scrumptious meatless alternatives to the familiar authentic foods they enjoy.

“We offer an extensive menu for customers forgoing meat this lent season,” said Lizette Gomez, Director of Marketing for Vallarta Supermarkets. “Vallarta has you covered with tasty meatless alternatives and traditional favorites full of flavor that will satisfy every palate.”

In Pasadena, the Vallarta Supermarket is located at the intersection of Fair Oaks Ave. and Orange Grove Blvd.

Vallarta Supermarkets is also serving other delectable choices including authentic ceviche made in-store with the freshest ingredients daily throughout the day, fish tacos and seasonal bread pudding- capirotada.

The following Lent menu items will be available across all 53 stores at various in-store departments, namely La Cocina, Pescadería, Cevichería, Cremería, and the Grab & Go:

La Cocina (Vallarta’s restaurant)
La Cocina a la carte menu offers familiar favorites which include: Chile Rellenos, Tortas de Camarón (shrimp patties), fish tacos and fried Mojarra. The Lent favorite, Milk Capirotada (bread pudding), will be available to order on weekends (Fri-Sun) from La Cocina. A hearty and comforting bowl of traditional lentil soup. Also offering tostado bolillo for customers looking to bake their own capirotada at home, it can be found at the bakery. La Cocina’s Lent menu will be available through April 6, 2023.

Pescadería/Cevichería (seafood department)
The Pescadería regularly offers fresh varieties of fish, shrimp, imitation crab, and seafood mixtures, selection of fresh and frozen quality seafood from all over the world available at all store locations. If you see a whole fish that you’d like skinned or trimmed, just ask one of our fish specialists — they’re always ready to help. The pescaderia features an in-house Cevicheria (ceviche section), offering 9 varieties of house-made ceviches and spicy aquachiles, made fresh daily in-store, several times throughout the day. Popular Ceviches available include: Fish Ceviche, Mango & Avocado Shrimp Ceviche & Aguachile. All shrimp ceviches are made with shrimp from the Baja Region of Mexico. Vallarta’s house-made salted tostadas are a great pairing to your ceviche.

Cremería (Deli)
Cremería at Vallarta offers an impressive variety of cheeses, salsas, and ready to go food items. For Lent, traditional favorites are returning to La Cremería including Nopal Salad, Crab & Shrimp Louie Salad; Tuna Salad, Imitation Crab Salad, Macaroni Salad, and Potato Salad.

Grab & Go
Prepared Grab & Go or heat and eat items include: Ceviche conveniently ready-to-go and enjoy in a cup. Options include Fish Ceviche, Shrimp Avocado & Mango and Aguachile, etc. Also during lent options include pre-seasoned shrimp meals that take 2 minutes to cook at home.

Also, through Vallarta Go, customers can shop from the convenience of their home and have their groceries and fresh authentic foods delivered to their homes. La Cocina items are available for delivery via DoorDash.
