What’s Up, Doc? Toon Con Comes to Pasadena Sunday

Toon Con is coming back to the Pasadena Convention Center this year with new partners. Toon Con’s Scott Zillner has now teamed up with Celbworx Nery Lemus and Chris Arsaga, and this new team brings a brand new premier animation expo to Pasadena on Sunday, October 9.

Toon-Con is a celebration of Western animation and the people who make cartoons come to life. The single-day convention and expo focuses specifically on American animation from the Wartime Era Golden Age of cartoons through the present.

VIP admission opens at 9 a.m. General admission follows starting at 10 a.m.

Among the panels to watch for are Alan Oppenheimer and Melendy Britt with moderator Brock Powell at 10:30 a.m., “Justice League” including Susan Eisenberg, George Newbern, Phil LaMarr, and Maria Canals Barrera, with moderator James Enstall at 11 a.m.; Cartoon Network Hall of Fame with Marty Grabstein and Jeff Bennett, with Brock Powell at 12 noon, and Inside Bluth Universe with Gary Goldman, Dan Molina, Jeff Etter, Lorna Cook, Pat Musick, Phillip Glasser, with Brock Powell at 1 p.m.

Be reminded that real weapons of any kind are not permitted at Toon-Con. This includes, but is not limited to guns, knives, swords, bows and arrows, spears, whips, mace and tasers. Any prop or weapon which is illegal in the United States is prohibited.
