Walden School Participates in the 2019 NAIS People of Color Conference



Terra Toscano (Head of School), Grace Park Cubas (4/5 Lead Teacher), Sydni Myrick-Causey (4/5 Lead Teacher), Billy Christian (Director of Admissions), Sophia Hamilton (K/1 Associate Teacher), and Janet Chae (1/2 Lead Teacher), recently attended the 2019 NAIS People of Color Conference, the flagship of the National Association of Independent Schools’ commitment to equity and justice in teaching and learning. Titled “1619. 2019. Before. Beyond. Amplifying “Our Intelligence to Liberate, Co-create, and Thrive”, the mission of the conference is to provide a safe space for leadership and professional development and networking for people of color and allies of all backgrounds in independent schools.
