Barnhart Kindergartners Learn Shapes

Last week, Barnhart kindergartners learned shapes and created their own Turkey Art for Thanksgiving! As young students get older, they need to learn about the connection between letters on a page and spoken sounds. For this to happen, they need plenty of experience with: pictures and objects – how they can use words to talk about them and letters and words – their shapes, sounds and names. This is part of their literacy development. And these can be done in various ways that are fun for both the teacher and the young student.
