Flintridge Prep Announces New Mascot: the Wolves

Flintridge Preparatory School (FPS) Headmaster Peter Bachmann and Board Chair David Codiga announced in a community-wide email Flintridge Prep’s new mascot, the Wolves!

This decision comes after many meaningful conversations across campus over several years, community surveys, and the formation of a multi-constituency mascot committee endorsed by the Board Oversight Committee.

The Wolves mascot will go into effect July 1. This fall, FPS will be working on creating new imagery, cheers, and more and Prep students will play a central role in helping to bring the Wolves to life!

FPS cannot discuss its new mascot without acknowledging the fact that for many people in the community, the Rebel caused discomfort and pain and was a barrier to inclusion in the Prep community. To all who have been hurt by the Rebels, FPS heard you and they are sorry. FPS hope the Wolves become a fresh symbol of unity for the school, where all feel safe and welcome, where all are heard and respected, and where all have equal space in the Prep family.

FPS thanks everyone who shared their comments and input throughout this process.
