Sequoyah Junior High Students Explore Constitutional Law and Supreme Court Cases

Sequoyah School junior high students recently took a deep dive into constitutional law during an engaging history class discussion led by Sequoyah parent and civil rights lawyer Rachel Bien. Students explored birthright citizenship, the 14th Amendment, and Trump v. Barbara, a current Supreme Court case examining the president’s executive order limiting birthright citizenship. They will now author their own SCOTUS decisions on the case, using legal precedents to support their arguments and reasoning. The experience gave students a meaningful opportunity to strengthen their critical thinking, legal analysis, and understanding of how constitutional issues shape public life. “Thank you, Rachel, for spending time with our students!”
