Sequoyah’s SIP Students Meet Tanya Pineda, Los Angeles Mayor’s Gender Equity Lead

Social Innovation Program (SIP) students studying gender equity met with Tanya Pineda, Gender Equity Lead of the Los Angeles Mayor’s office recently. Tanya is one of 60+ people Sequoyah’s SIP students have already met with this year. Sequoyah School thank Ms. Pineda for spending time with its students!

The Social Innovation Program (SIP) is a four-year curriculum that hones the changemaking attitudes and aptitudes of every Sequoyah School student, 9th-12th grade. Through talking with people and visiting places, students develop a firm understanding of their relationship to complex injustices facing local and global communities. Graduates are seasoned ethnographic researchers, imaginative creators, and thoughtful collaborators who fluently wield and yield power.
