South Pasadena Middle School Mandarin Classes Celebrate Mid-Autumn Moon Festival

This week, during the middle school Mandarin classes taught by Mo Yang, students celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival–the second most important traditional holiday in China.

Sixth graders performed a live show featuring Moon Festival fairy tales, creating the scripts in Chinese and designing their own props. Seventh graders presented a musical concert in many forms in Chinese (singing, dancing, poem reciting, interview, etc). Parents and guardians donated traditional holiday foods, including mooncakes and seasonal fruits, to highlight the celebration.
